SURGERY TIMES

Monday to Friday 8.00am - 12.30pm and 1.30 - 6.00pm

OUT OF HOURS (including weekends)

If the surgery is closed and you need a doctor there is always a doctor available 24 hours a day. You must call 0844 499 4388 and a recorded message will tell you how to get in touch with the doctor 'on call' who will call you back to offer help. From 7.00am to 7.00pm weekdays, it will generally be one of the doctors from our practice who sees you, but from 7.00pm weekdays and during weekends and bank holidays, we offer the services of Patient Care 24 - the Croydon GP Co-operative scheme. This is run as a non-profit-making organisation and is staffed entirely by local GPs. A GP will be available at the Base (a modern fully equipped unit on the Mayday Hospital site) to see patients and to offer telephone advice. If you are too ill to go to the Base Unit then another GP in a radiocar will visit you if appropriate. When phoning be sure to have a pen and paper handy plus some coins or a phone card if you are in a call box.

Acute Emergencies

IF YOU ARE CONFRONTED BY A SERIOUS PROBLEM SUCH AS SEVERE CHEST PAIN, SEVERE BLEEDING, COLLAPSE OR UNCONSCIOUSNESS CALL AN AMBULANCE (999) BEFORE CALLING YOUR DOCTOR.

NHS Direct

NHS Direct offers advice and information by telephone. This is a 24 hour a day/seven day a week service manned by trained health professionals, usually nurses who can offer advice about a wide range of health issues. Telephone 0845 4647.

Walk-in Centre

There is a Walk-in Centre in High Street, Croydon opposite the south entrance to Surrey Street Market. The Centre is open from 7.00am to 11.00pm and is nurse-led. No appointment is necessary. They can deal with minor injuries, illnesses and emergency contraception.

DISABLED ACCESS

Both surgeries are equipped with the disabled in mind. Wheelchair access is facilitated with a gentle ramp at Chipstead Valley Road and by level access at Foxley Lane. Both surgeries have fully equipped modern disabled toilet facilities.

PARKING

There is a patients' car park at 32 Foxley Lane; the entrance is in Plough Lane where there is level access to the surgery for wheelchairs.

There is no specified parking area at 140 Chipstead Valley Road. There are, however, both meter controlled parking bays and time limited parking bays on the main road.
